Deion Sanders was a two-sport professional athlete, playing both football and baseball. His baseball career spanned nine seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) with four different teams: the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, and San Francisco Giants.

Sanders was an outfielder, primarily playing left and center field. He was known for his speed, which he used to his advantage in both hitting and base running.

A notable aspect of his career was his ability to play both sports simultaneously. In 1989, he became the only player to hit a home run in MLB and score a touchdown in the NFL in the same week. He is also the only person to have played in both a Super Bowl and a World Series. During his time with the Braves, he had an agreement that allowed him to play in the MLB postseason after attending NFL training camp.

Since he began his coaching career, he has adopted the nickname, “Coach Prime” which is a clever spin on his original “Prime Time” moniker and reflects his new role leading a football team.
