Mike Mussina, nicknamed “Moose,” was a consistent and highly talented right-handed pitcher who played an 18-season career in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for both the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees. Known for his pinpoint control and diverse arsenal of pitches, Mussina won 270 games against just 153 losses, compiling an impressive winning percentage. He was a five-time All-Star, a seven-time Gold Glove Award winner, and finished in the top six for the Cy Young Award an astounding nine times. Despite never winning a Cy Young, his sustained excellence, particularly in the challenging American League East, eventually earned him a well-deserved induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019.
