Loren Dale Mitchell was a professional baseball left fielder who played for 11 seasons in Major League Baseball primarily for the Cleveland Indians. He also spent a brief stint at the end of his career with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Dale Mitchell was known for his exceptional hitting abilities, particularly his consistent contact and high batting average. He was a left-handed hitter who frequently got on base. Mitchell finished his career with a very respectable .312 batting average. He was a two-time All-Star (1949, 1952) and was a key member of the 1948 Cleveland Indians team that won the World Series, defeating the Boston Braves.
