Finley belongs to one of the most exclusive statistical circles in the history of the game. He is one of only a few players to achieve the 300 Home Run / 300 Stolen Base milestone.
He is one of only two players (the other being pitcher Matt Herges) to play for all five teams in the National League West.
- San Diego Padres: Won two Gold Gloves and reached the 1998 World Series.
- Arizona Diamondbacks: Won the 2001 World Series and three more Gold Gloves.
- Los Angeles Dodgers: Hit one of the most famous walk-off grand slams in history.
- San Francisco Giants: Played there at age 41, still hitting triples like a teenager.
- Colorado Rockies: Finished his career here in 2007.
While he won a ring with Arizona in 2001, his most “Hollywood” moment came as a Dodger. On the second-to-last day of the 2004 season, the Dodgers were trailing their rivals, the Giants, in the 9th inning. Finley stepped up with the bases loaded and hit a walk-off grand slam to clinch the NL West Division title. It remains one of the loudest moments in the history of Dodger Stadium.
After his playing career, Finley worked for Morgan Stanley, specifically in their Global Sports & Entertainment division, where he advises professional athletes on managing their wealth—a role he took on because he wanted to help young players avoid the financial pitfalls he saw during his career.
