Nicknamed “the Big Unit”, Randy Johnson is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played 22 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for a number of teams most notably the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks. The Big Unit stands 6’10” making him one of the tallest baseball players in MLB history. He was especially known for his overpowering fastball and slider, a combination that remained effective throughout his lengthy career. Because he was traded to the Mariners, Randy Johnson actually has two Topps rookie cards in 1989 both this one and the traded set version.
