Don Larsen was an American professional baseball pitcher whose career spanned 14 seasons in Major League Baseball (1953-1967). While his overall career was relatively mediocre, he is forever immortalized for one extraordinary feat: pitching the only perfect game in World Series history. This legendary performance occurred on October 8, 1956, in Game 5 of the World Series, as a member of the New York Yankees against the Brooklyn Dodgers at Yankee Stadium. Beyond this iconic moment, Larsen was a two-time World Series champion with the Yankees (1956, 1958) and was known for his colorful personality.
