Frank Thomas (not to be confused with the 1990 rookie Frank Thomas), Frank Joseph Thomas (1929-2023), a powerful slugging outfielder and infielder. He was known for his strong bat and played for seven different National League teams from 1951 to 1966, primarily with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Thomas was a three-time All-Star (1954, 1955, 1958) and had a career high of 35 home runs and 109 RBIs in 1958. Overall, he finished his 16-season career with 286 home runs and 962 RBIs.
