Al Kaline, also known by the nickname “Mr. Tiger,” was a phenomenal right fielder who played his entire 22 year Major League Baseball (MLB) career with the Detroit Tigers from (1953-1974). Kaline was a consistent offensive threat, boasting a career batting average of .297 with 3,007 hits and 399 home runs. He also won 10 Gold Glove Awards, and his leadership was instrumental in the Tigers’ 1968 World Series championship, where he batted an impressive .379. Al Kaline was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980 on his first ballot.
