Jim Clancy was a professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for 15 seasons. He was a right-handed pitcher who spent the majority of his career with the Toronto Blue Jays (1977-1988), before playing for the Houston Astros (1989-1991) and the Atlanta Braves (1991).
He spent 12 seasons with the Blue Jays and was a key member of their starting rotation, ranking second in franchise history for starts, innings pitched, and complete games. He was an American League All-Star in 1982, a season in which he had his first winning record (16-14) and started a league-high 40 games. In 1985, he helped the Blue Jays win their first division title.
After leaving Toronto, Clancy spent more than two seasons with the Houston Astros and finished his career with the Atlanta Braves. His final season was in 1991, where he played a key role out of the bullpen for the Braves, earning his first postseason victory in the World Series.
