Larry Walker is a Canadian former professional baseball right fielder who played for 17 seasons in Major League Baseball.
Walker played for the Montreal Expos (1989–1994), the Colorado Rockies (1995–2004), and the St. Louis Cardinals (2004–2005).
He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020 on his tenth ballot.
Walker won the National League MVP Award in 1997 with the Colorado Rockies. That season, he led the league with 49 home runs and a .720 slugging percentage, while also recording 130 RBIs and 33 stolen bases. He won three National League batting titles (1998, 1999, and 2001). He was a five-time All-Star, won seven Gold Glove Awards for his defense in right field, and earned three Silver Slugger Awards. His uniform number 33 was retired by the Colorado Rockies.

Walker put the entire National League in an absolute chokehold, batting a blistering .366 while leading the majors with 49 home runs and driving in 130 runs. He added 33 stolen bases and a jaw-dropping 1.172 OPS, becoming the first player in modern history to combine 45+ home runs with 30+ stolen bases in a single summer. He easily captured the 1997 National League MVP Award, permanently silencing critics who claimed his production was merely a byproduct of Colorado’s thin mountain air.
