Joey Hamilton is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher who played professionally for nine seasons. A right-handed pitcher, he was known for his solid run with the San Diego Padres in the mid-1990s.
Hamilton made his MLB debut with the Padres in 1994. He quickly became a key part of their starting rotation, finishing fifth in the National League Rookie of the Year voting that season. His best year came in 1996 when he recorded a career-high 15 wins and helped the Padres win the National League West division title.
In 1998, Hamilton was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays, where he played for two seasons before being released. He then signed with the Cincinnati Reds, playing his final two seasons.
