Shane Spencer (full name Michael Shane Spencer) is an American former professional baseball outfielder.

Spencer played a total of 538 games in Major League Baseball (MLB) between 1998 and 2004. He played for the New York Yankees (1998–2002), Cleveland Indians (2003), Texas Rangers (2003), and New York Mets (2004).

He was a member of the New York Yankees teams that won the World Series in 1998 and 1999 (though he did not play in the 1999 or 2000 World Series). After nine years in the minor leagues, Spencer burst onto the scene in 1998, his debut season at age 26. He compiled a .373 batting average with 10 home runs and 27 RBI in just 27 games in a late-season surge. This included three grand slams in a ten-day span, which was a major league rookie record at the time.

He was nicknamed “Roy Hobbs” after the main character in the movie The Natural. He also played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Hanshin Tigers from 2005–2006.

After his playing career, Spencer became a coach. He served as a hitting coach for teams like the Lake Elsinore Storm (San Diego Padres Single-A affiliate, 2008–2009) and the Somerset Patriots (independent Atlantic League, 2013). He was the manager of the Hwaseong Heroes, the farm team for the Nexen Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization, from 2016–2019. In July 2023, he joined the coaching staff of the Irish Wolfhounds, a non-professional team.
