J.T. Snow is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) first baseman who played from 1992 to 2006. He is known for his exceptional defense.
Snow was drafted by the New York Yankees in 1989 and made his MLB debut with them in 1992. He played for the California Angels from 1993 to 1996, the San Francisco Giants from 1997 to 2005, and the Boston Red Sox in 2006. He had a final, one-game appearance with the Giants in 2008.
While playing for the San Francisco Giants, he was part of four postseason appearances. Snow won six consecutive Gold Glove Awards from 1995 to 2000. He is one of few players to win the “Willie Mac Award” twice in his career (1997 and 2004).
A photograph of Snow lifting the Giants’ batboy, Darren Baker, by his jacket as he was scoring a run in the 2002 World Series hangs in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Following this incident, Major League Baseball mandated that batboys and girls must be at least 14 years old.
