Did You Know?  What cements Kent’s legacy as an immortal of modern baseball history is where his numbers sit relative to his position. Historically, second base was reserved for high-speed table setters, slap hitters, and defensive specialists. Kent completely threw that blueprint out the window.

He is the all-time Major League Baseball home run leader among second basemen, hitting 351 of his 377 career home runs while actively playing the position (surpassing the legendary Ryne Sandberg). He recorded eight separate seasons with 20 or more home runs and 100 or more RBIs, an unbelievable baseline of middle-of-the-order power production that unmatched by almost any other second baseman to ever play the game.
