Cecil Fielder was an American professional baseball player known for his immense power as a first baseman and designated hitter. He was a prominent slugger in the 1990s, most famously with the Detroit Tigers.
Fielder’s career in Major League Baseball (MLB) spanned from 1985 to 1998, with a notable one-year stint in Japan in 1989. His time with the Detroit Tigers from 1990 to 1996 was his most productive. In 1990, his first year with the Tigers, Fielder hit 51 home runs, becoming the first player to reach the 50-homer mark since George Foster in 1977.
Fielder led the American League in RBIs for three consecutive seasons (1990-1992) and was a three-time All-Star (1990, 1991, 1993). He won a World Series with the New York Yankees in 1996, after being traded from the Tigers midway through the season.
