Did You Know?  Larkin’s transition from a rising star to an elite winner was fully realized during the magical 1991 campaign, anchored by the iconic 1990 “Wire-to-Wire” Cincinnati Reds team that held first place from opening day through the final out of the World Series.

Serving as the absolute engine of the offense and the director of the infield, Larkin put together a brilliant individual postseason showcase. During the shocking four-game sweep of the powerhouse Oakland Athletics in the 1990 World Series, Larkin completely paralyzed Oakland’s pitching, batting a heavy .353 with six hits and five runs scored. His ability to execute flawlessly under extreme pressure provided the calming veteran presence the underdog Reds needed to secure the title, transforming him into an immortal hero across Ohio.
