Did You Know?  While the 1990s featured a legendary generation of power-hitting shortstops, Larkin forced the baseball world to recognize his complete, all-around excellence during a spectacular 1995 regular season.

Larkin completely dominated the National League that summer, putting together an absolute masterclass in situational hitting and baseline execution. He batted a stellar .319 with 15 home runs, 66 RBIs, and 51 stolen bases, striking out just 49 times over the entire campaign. He carried a young, transitioning Reds roster straight to the National League Central Division title. His stellar defense and unparalleled leadership off the field earned him the ultimate individual hardware: the 1995 National League MVP Award, making him the first shortstop to win the honor since Ernie Banks decades prior.
