Mark David McGwire is an American former professional baseball first baseman. He is nicknamed “Big Mac” and played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1986 to 2001. He most notably played for the Oakland Athletics and also for the St. Louis Cardinals. He won two World Series championships. McGwire hit 583 home runs during his career and hit 70 in the 1998 season alone. He also hit 49 home runs in 1987 as a rookie. The 1985 Topps card is considered by many to be McGwire’s true rookie card, while this 1987 card are also recognized as rookies by some.
