Eric Peter Karros is a former American professional baseball first baseman who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). He primarily played for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
During his career, Karros achieved several notable accomplishments. He was named the National League Rookie of the Year in 1992 and he won a Silver Slugger Award in 1995. He hit two home runs in the same inning, a feat he accomplished on August 22, 2000.
After his 12 seasons with the Dodgers, Karros was traded to the Chicago Cubs in 2002. He played for the Cubs in 2003 and then signed with the Oakland Athletics for the 2004 season, which was his last in MLB.
Following his playing career, Karros became a sportscaster. He has worked as a color commentator for Fox and previously for ESPN.
