Anderson spent 15 of his 17 seasons with the Angels, becoming their all-time leader in hits, RBIs, and games played. He was a cornerstone of the 2002 World Series championship team.
Anderson had one of the best All-Star breaks in history, winning the Home Run Derby and being named the All-Star Game MVP in 2003. From 1997 to 2003, he was second only to Derek Jeter in total hits across the Major Leagues.
Anderson’s absolute prime coincided with the Angels’ most successful stretch. In 2002 and 2003, he was arguably the best doubles hitter in baseball, leading the American League in that category both years.
He eventually moved on to the Braves and Dodgers to finish his career, but his legacy remains firmly in Anaheim, where he was inducted into the Angels Hall of Fame in 2016.
