Scott Brosius is an American former professional baseball third baseman who played for the Oakland Athletics (1991–1997) and the New York Yankees (1998–2001). After his playing career, he transitioned to coaching and has served as an athletic director at Linfield University.
Brosius is best known for his successful four-year stint with the Yankees, where he was a key part of three consecutive World Series championship teams from 1998 to 2000. Before joining the Yankees, he had a strong season with the A’s in 1996, batting .304 with 22 home runs.
During the 1998 World Series, Brosius batted .471 with two home runs and six RBIs, earning him the Most Valuable Player award for the series. He won a Gold Glove for his outstanding defensive play at third base. Brosius was selected to the MLB All-Star Game once in his career, in 1998.
Brosius retired after the 2001 season, citing a desire to spend more time with his family.
