Lebron played in the minor leagues from 1995 to 2003, spending time in the organizations of the Kansas City Royals, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, and Seattle Mariners. He also played in independent and Mexican baseball leagues.
As a minor league player, he was recognized as a promising prospect. He was ranked as the No. 8 prospect in the Royals’ organization in 1999 and was later traded to the Mets.
Throughout his minor league career, he accumulated a batting average of .247 with 65 home runs and 310 RBIs over 628 games. His career highlights include a season in 1998 with the Class-A Lansing team where he had career highs in home runs (17), RBIs (84), and walks (57). He was known for his power potential and arm strength. However, the Royals felt his long swing would prevent him from making consistent contact.
