Similar to 2001 Bowman, Topps used an abundance of gold foil on this years cards. They also kept with the multiple player rookie cards. The front of the cards feature quality player photos with a teal all around boarder/background. The back of the cards has player stats within blue frames and the teal background continues from the front.

Overview of 2001 Topps Baseball Cards
The 2001 Topps baseball card set, a year that saw the company celebrate its 50th anniversary, is known for several key features and a particularly strong rookie class.
Key Rookie Cards: The 2001 Topps set is highly sought after by collectors for its rookie cards of two of the era’s most significant players, both of whom are now in the Hall of Fame.
Ichiro Suzuki: The Japanese sensation made his MLB debut in 2001 and won both the American League MVP and Rookie of the Year awards. His rookie card, #726, is a cornerstone of the set and is a highly desirable card for collectors.
Albert Pujols: While his rookie card is in a separate “Topps Traded & Rookies” set, it’s a monumental card. His #T247 card is one of the most important rookie cards of the 2000s, especially its parallels.
Other notable rookie cards from the 2001 Topps sets include Jake Peavy and Justin Morneau.
Base Set: The main set consists of 790 cards, issued in two series. The card design features a green border with a gold foil inset border. The backs are horizontally oriented and include player stats and biographical information.
Topps’ 50th Anniversary: The year was marked by Topps’ 50th anniversary, and the cards prominently feature a gold foil logo to commemorate the occasion.
Card #7: As a tribute to the legendary Mickey Mantle, Topps intentionally left card #7 missing from the set.
“Topps Traded & Rookies”: This was a separate product from the main flagship set and was packaged in its own packs. This is where the highly valuable Albert Pujols rookie card is found. It’s a significant set because it was only the second time Topps had issued its Traded set in packs instead of as a factory set. (At this time only base set card prices are available. No subsets, refractors, errors or parallels.)
Parallels and Inserts: The 2001 Topps sets are known for a wide variety of parallels and inserts, which added to the chase for collectors.
(Rookiecardprices.com only shows values for regular base set cards. No prices are shown for errors, parallels, subsets, misprints or other cards unless noted.)
Topps Gold: These parallels, also known as “50th Anniversary” cards, were inserted into packs and were numbered out of 2001.
Factory Set Parallels: Topps also released several factory sets with unique parallels, including the “Home Team Advantage” and “Limited Edition” sets. The “Limited Edition” cards were printed on a thicker card stock.
Topps Chrome: A separate, parallel set with a chrome finish was also produced. The 2001 Topps Chrome Traded & Rookies set is especially important, as it includes the coveted Albert Pujols and Ichiro Suzuki rookie cards in their chrome versions, along with various limited refractors.
Memorabilia Cards: This was the second year Topps included relic cards in its flagship product. These included “King of Kings Relics” with game-used uniform pieces and “Hit Parade” relics with pieces of game-used bats.
The 2001 Topps sets, particularly the Traded and Chrome products, remain highly desirable in the collecting community due to the presence of two of baseball’s most iconic modern-day Hall of Famers.
