Tim Salmon is a former professional baseball player who played his entire MLB career with the California/Anaheim/Los Angeles Angels from 1992 to 2006. Nicknamed “King Fish,” he was an outfielder and designated hitter.
Salmon won the 1993 AL Rookie of the Year award unanimously, becoming only the fourth American League player to do so at the time. He was a key member of the Angels team that won the franchise’s first World Series title in 2002. He had a career-high .330 batting average in the 1995 season winning a Silver Slugger Award.
Salmon was inducted into the Angels Hall of Fame in 2015. At the time of his retirement, he held the Angels’ franchise record for most home runs with 299, a record that has since been surpassed.
