Jake Peavy was an intense, hard-throwing right-handed starting pitcher who enjoyed success in both the National League (NL) and the American League (AL) over his 15-year career. He is particularly celebrated for his dominant peak with the San Diego Padres.
Peavy had a phenomenal year in 2007 earning the unanimous vote for the National League Cy Young Award. He won consecutive World Series titles with two different teams: the Boston Red Sox in 2013 and the San Francisco Giants in 2014. He is one of the few players in MLB history to achieve this feat. Peavy also won a Gold Glove Award in 2012.
Peavy’s legacy is defined by his intense focus, high-strikeout numbers, and his unforgettable run of pitching dominance with the San Diego Padres.
