Bobby Cox is widely known for his highly successful career as a manager in Major League Baseball, particularly with the Atlanta Braves. During his playing career he primarily played third base and occasionally second base. Cox played for the New York Yankees for two seasons, in 1968 and 1969. Unfortunately his playing career was cut short due to knee issues.
While his playing career was short, Bobby Cox went on to become one of the most respected and winningest managers in baseball history. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014 primarily for his managerial achievements. He managed the Atlanta Braves (in two stints) and the Toronto Blue Jays. He led the Atlanta Braves to a World Series championship in 1995. He has won four Manager of the Year Awards and holds the all-time record for ejections in MLB.
