Joe Carter was a professional baseball player who had a 16-year career in Major League Baseball, primarily as an outfielder and first baseman. He is most famous for his time with the Toronto Blue Jays, with whom he won two World Series championships.
Carter played for six different teams: the Chicago Cubs (1983), Cleveland Indians (1984-1989), San Diego Padres (1990), Toronto Blue Jays (1991-1997), Baltimore Orioles (1998), and San Francisco Giants (1998). Carter is best remembered for his game-winning walk-off home run in Game 6 of the 1993 World Series. This three-run homer against the Philadelphia Phillies secured the Blue Jays’ second consecutive championship.
Carter was a five-time All-Star (1991–1994, 1996) and he won the Silver Slugger Award twice (1991, 1992).
