Montreal Expos (1989): In one of the most famous trades in baseball history, Seattle sent Langston to Montreal in exchange for a package that included future Hall of Famer Randy Johnson. Langston was brilliant for the Expos, posting a 2.39 ERA in 24 starts.
California/Anaheim Angels (1990–1997): He signed a then-record $16 million contract to join the Angels. In his very first start for the team, he pitched seven innings of a combined no-hitter with Mike Witt.
San Diego Padres & Cleveland Indians (1998–1999): He finished his career as a veteran presence, helping the Padres reach the 1998 World Series.
Career accolades include being a 7× Gold Glove winner. He was widely considered one of the best-fielding pitchers to ever play the game, winning five consecutive awards from 1991 to 1995. Langston also holds 4× All-Star selections in 1987, 1991, 1992, and 1993.
After playing Langston became a familiar face in the sport as a long-time radio broadcaster for the Los Angeles Angels.
