Mark Grace was a Major League Baseball first baseman who played for 16 seasons. He was known for his consistent hitting and strong defense.
Grace spent the majority of his career with the Chicago Cubs (1988-2000) and finished his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2001-2003).
Grace was a member of the 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks team that won the World Series. He won four Gold Glove Awards for his fielding at first base (1992, 1993, 1995, and 1996). He was a three-time All-Star (1993, 1995, and 1997).
After retiring as a player, Grace worked as a television color commentator for the Arizona Diamondbacks and for Fox Saturday Baseball. He was also a coach for the Diamondbacks’ minor league system and later became the hitting coach for the major league team.
