Todd Walker is a former professional baseball infielder who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1996 to 2007. He was a left-handed hitter and threw right-handed.
Walker was a standout college baseball player for Louisiana State University (LSU). During his three seasons there, he became the SEC’s all-time leader in hits, runs, RBI, and total bases. In 1993, he was named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player while helping LSU win the national championship.
Drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 1994 with the eighth overall pick, Walker made his MLB debut in 1996. He played for seven different teams over his 12-year career. Minnesota Twins (1996–2000), Colorado Rockies (2000–2001), Cincinnati Reds (2001–2002), Boston Red Sox (2003), Chicago Cubs (2004–2006), San Diego Padres (2006) and Oakland Athletics (2007).
In 2003, with the Boston Red Sox, Walker had a strong postseason. He hit .313 with three home runs in the American League Division Series and .370 with two home runs in the American League Championship Series.
After his playing career, Walker has worked as a college baseball analyst and color commentator.
