Everett won a World Series with the Chicago White Sox in 2005. He was a two-time All-Star, making the team in 2000 and 2003. His best season was in 2000 with the Boston Red Sox, where he hit a career-high 34 home runs.

Did You Know?  Despite his elite five-tool talent, Everett’s career was heavily impacted by intense personality clashes with managers, teammates, and umpires. His most infamous on-field explosion occurred in July 2000, when he violently headbutted umpire Ron Kulpa during a heated dispute over inside-outside strike zone positioning, resulting in a 10-game suspension.

Off the field, his eccentric worldview drew continuous media attention—most notably when he publicly declared his disbelief in the historical existence of dinosaurs and questioned the validity of the moon landing, permanently earning him the tongue-in-cheek nickname “Jurassic Carl” across the sports landscape.
