Bartolo Colón is a professional baseball pitcher nicknamed “Big Sexy” who has played for 11 different MLB teams. Colón won the American League Cy Young Award in 2005 with the Los Angeles Angels, leading the league in wins that year. He was selected to four All-Star Games throughout his career in 1998, 2005, 2013, and 2016.
Despite being known as a pitcher, Colón is famous for hitting his first career home run on May 7, 2016, with the New York Mets against the San Diego Padres. He was 42 years old at the time, making him the oldest player to hit his first career home run. The home run became a viral sensation and is considered a highlight in baseball history. Colón wrote about the experience in his 2020 autobiography, Big Sexy.
