Vladimir Guerrero, nicknamed “Vlad the Impaler,” was a Dominican-American professional baseball player known for his aggressive and powerful hitting style. He played for 16 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1996 to 2011, primarily with the Montreal Expos and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Guerrero was famous for being a “bad-ball” hitter, capable of hitting pitches outside the strike zone with authority. He rarely struck out and was a threat to hit for power on any pitch.  He won the American League MVP award in 2004 with the Angels, his first season with the team. He was a nine-time All-Star, making four with the Expos and four with the Angels and he won eight Silver Slugger Awards.

Guerrero was a dominant force with the Expos, setting franchise records for batting average, home runs, and slugging percentage. In 2002, he came close to joining the exclusive 40-40 club (40 home runs and 40 stolen bases), finishing with 39 home runs and 40 stolen bases.

He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018.

Andruw Jones played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1996 to 2012, primarily with the Atlanta Braves. He also had stints with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox, and New York Yankees.

Jones is widely considered one of the greatest defensive center fielders in baseball history. He won 10 consecutive Gold Glove Awards from 1998 to 2007. Jones finished his MLB career with 434 home runs, tied for 40th all-time at the time of his retirement. His best offensive season came in 2005 when he led the National League with 51 home runs and 128 RBIs. That year, he also won the Silver Slugger Award and the Hank Aaron Award.

Jones was a 5-time MLB All-Star (2000, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006). The Atlanta Braves retired his number 25, and he has been inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame.
