Carl Crawford was an American professional baseball player who played for 15 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB).
He primarily played as an outfielder, batting and throwing left-handed. Crawford played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays / Rays (2002–2010), the Boston Red Sox (2011–2012), and the Los Angeles Dodgers (2013–2016). He was best known for his time with the Tampa Bay Rays, where he was considered one of the best base runners in baseball.
Crawford achieved several awards and accolades throughout his career including being a 4-time MLB All-Star (2004, 2007, 2009, 2010), a Gold Glove Award winner and Silver Slugger Award in (2010). He was a 4-time American League stolen base leader (2003, 2004, 2006, 2007).
Carl Crawford was an inductee in the Tampa Bay Rays Hall of Fame. He is a cousin of fellow MLB player J.P. Crawford and the father of Justin Crawford.
