A.J. Burnett was a Major League Baseball (MLB) starting pitcher known for his powerful fastball and curveball.
He played for five teams over 17 MLB seasons including the Florida Marlins (1999–2005), Toronto Blue Jays (2006–2008), New York Yankees (2009–2011), Pittsburgh Pirates (2012–2013, 2015), and Philadelphia Phillies (2014).
Burnett helped win a World Series title with the New York Yankees in 2009. He was selected to the NL All-Star team in 2015 while with the Pirates.
