Adam Dunn’s Major League Baseball career spanned 14 seasons, from his debut on July 20, 2001, to his final appearance on September 28, 2014. Known by the nickname “The Big Donkey,” he was primarily a left fielder and first baseman.
Dunn played for five teams during his career: Cincinnati Reds (2001–2008), Arizona Diamondbacks (2008), Washington Nationals (2009–2010), Chicago White Sox (2011–2014) and Oakland Athletics (2014).
Dunn was a two-time MLB All-Star (2002, 2012) and was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame.
Dunn compiled 462 career home runs, ranking him among the top power hitters of his era.
Dunn was known for his significant power, illustrated by being 11th all-time in at-bats per home run at the time of his retirement.
