Matt Holliday is a former American professional baseball left fielder who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 15 seasons, from 2004 to 2018.

Holliday was known for his consistent hitting and power throughout his career, which spanned four teams: Colorado Rockies (2004–2008, 2018), Oakland Athletics (2009), St. Louis Cardinals (2009–2016) and New York Yankees (2017).

Holliday won the 2011 World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals. He was selected to the All-Star Game seven times (2006–2008, 2010–2012, 2015). He won the Silver Slugger Award four times (2006–2008, 2010) and won the National League batting title in 2007 with a .340 average.

Holliday was known for his durability and consistent production, becoming one of very few players in MLB history to amass nine consecutive seasons (2006-2014) of at least 20 home runs, 30 doubles, 75 RBIs, and 80 runs scored.

He has been inducted into the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame. He is active in charity work, co-sponsoring a pledge drive for St. Louis hospitals called “Homers for Health.”
