Card Values: See Pricing Table Below
Valdez was originally signed by the San Diego Padres in 1983 as an amateur free agent but spent the majority of his North American career in the minor leagues before making his debut with Cleveland.
- Teams: Cleveland Indians (1990–1991), Arizona Diamondbacks (1998)
- MLB Career Stats: 1–1 Record, 2.91 ERA, 16 Strikeouts, 34.0 Innings Pitched
One of the most interesting aspects of his career is the seven-year gap between his MLB appearances (1991 to 1998).
When he wasn’t in the Big Leagues, Valdez was a standout performer in several international leagues including KBO (South Korea), CPBL (Taiwan) and Mexican League where he spent significant time throughout the 90s, pitching for teams during his “gap” years from the MLB.
He is the brother of fellow pitcher Carlos Valdez, who also pitched for the Cleveland Indians in the early 90s.
