Selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 16th round of the 1969 MLB Draft, David “Buddy” Bell went on to become a 5-time All-Star, 6-time Gold Glove winner, and one of the premier hot-corner third basemen of his generation.
Son of Reds legend Gus Bell and father to former big leaguers David and Mike Bell, Buddy Bell played 18 Major League seasons (1972–1989) with the Indians, Rangers, Reds, and Astros, collecting 2,514 hits while establishing a reputation for defensive mastery at third base.
Gold Glove Excellence: 6 consecutive AL Gold Glove Awards at 3B (1979–1984).
