Milton Joseph “Milt” Bolling was an American professional baseball player who primarily played shortstop in Major League Baseball for parts of seven seasons during the 1950s. He is also notable for being the older brother of fellow MLB player Frank Bolling. Bolling signed with the Red Sox as an amateur free agent in 1947. He made his major league debut in September 1952. In 1958, while with the Detroit Tigers, Milt briefly played alongside his younger brother Frank Bolling, who was the Tigers’ second baseman. After leaving the Red Sox in 1957, he had brief stints with the Washington Senators (1957) and the Detroit Tigers (1958).

After his playing days, Milt Bolling remained deeply involved in baseball. He had a long and distinguished career working for the Boston Red Sox for over 30 years as an executive assistant to owner Tom Yawkey. He was also a scout, primarily in the Alabama area where he hailed.

Milt Bolling’s most recognized rookie card is this 1953 Topps #280.
