Rickey Henderson was an American professional baseball left fielder who played 25 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1979 to 2003. He played four separate tenures with his original team, the Oakland Athletics. He is widely known as baseball’s greatest leadoff hitter and baserunner. Henderson holds the record for single season stolen bases. He also holds MLB records for career stolen bases, runs, and leadoff home runs. In 2009, he was inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. The 1980 Topps Rickey Henderson rookie card is tough to find in mint condition and commands a large premium for high grade.
