Robert Edward “Bob” Blaylock was an American professional baseball player who was a right-handed pitcher. His career included parts of two Major League Baseball (MLB) seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1956 and 1959.
Blaylock’s professional baseball journey spanned ten years, all within the Cardinals organization. He signed with the team after graduating from high school in Oklahoma and played in the minor leagues.
Blaylock had two brief stints in the MLB. In 1956, he was called up after a successful start to the minor league season. He made his MLB debut on July 22, 1956, and pitched 41 innings over 14 games, finishing with a 1-6 record and a 6.37 ERA. He was recalled to the Cardinals in September 1959, where he appeared in three games.
After his last MLB appearance in 1959, Blaylock spent the rest of his professional baseball career in the minor leagues before retiring after the 1962 season.
